The GCFOA services a number of schools in Sarasota, Manatee, Hardee, DeSoto, and Charlotte Counties.

We are currently looking to recruit officials-- no experience is necessary. Anyone interested in joining the Association should contact our President Bill Siedlecki for information.

Training Program Update

The training program for all new officials and officials who are starting their fourth season officiating, on Saturday August 30th at 12:00 at the Ringling Redskins Jamboree. There are two sessions:

• Session 1: games start at 12:30 and finish at 2:30. 

• Session II: games start at 4:30 and end at 6:30. 

We would like to see all officials, new to the association and regardless of experience, there for one of the two sessions.  I also need veterans to help shadow and train.  I see this as a great opportunity for old and new to better our association from the get go.  Please note: The white hat will always be a veteran.  New officials should focus on one of the other 3 positions.  Also, a reminder, if you are the shadow officials, no stripes.  This is a Redskins request.
 
The regular season at Redskins starts on September 6 and ends on November 18.  Our training program ends on October 11.  Game times are 2:30, 4:00, 5:30 and 7:00.  Veterans and newbies, please email Jeff Paige with your availability and time preferences.

• Officials that will be considered for playoffs (3 plus years) need to take the on line closed book test option 00.
